Albert Myron Remme

Albert Myron Remme, 90, of Dennison, Minnesota died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at his home. He was born January 24, 1927 in St. Paul, Minnesota the son of Martin and Mabel (Baker) Remme. Albert was baptized and confirmed at Vang Lutheran Church. He attended Kenyon High School and farmed with his dad on the family farm in Warsaw Township. Albert married Evelyn Armstrong on October 6, 1951 at the parsonage of Rev. Hanes in Dundas, Minnesota. At the age of 27, Albert was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Hawaii where served as a Heavy Equipment Operator during the Korean War. Nancy A. Gatton

Nancy was born June 22, 1951, in Northfield, Minnesota, the daughter of Orville “Pete” and Delores (Matson) Edwardsen. She was raised in Northfield and graduated from Northfield High School Class of 1969. Nancy began working at Mid America Dairy as a lab tech in Farmington. Nancy was united in marriage to Henry “LeRoy” Gatton on May 28, 1983, at St John’s Lutheran Church in Northfield. Nancy went to work at Midwest Importers in Cannon Falls where she worked as an Inventory Control Analyst for 22 years and during that time, she attended Dakota Technical College in Rosemount. Following, she worked for Rust Consulting in Faribault until retiring due to health reasons. Margaret Grabinger

Margaret Grabinger, age 79 of Northfield, passed away Thursday morning, January 19, 2017, at Three Links Care Center in Northfield, Minnesota, where she had been residing. She would have turned 80 in nine days. Margaret Ada Lehn Grabinger was born January 28, 1937, at home on the Lehn farm outside of St. Michael, Minnesota, to Elmer and Eveline (Kersting) Lehn. She was the oldest of 12 children, born at 7 months and weighed only 3 ½ pounds. The doctor thought she would not live through the night. Marge graduated from St. Michael High School in 1955 and attended school in Mankato for one year. On April 4, 1959, Margaret married Wallace Grabinger at St. Michael Catholic Church. Edward Francis Palan

Edward Francis Palan, age 78, of Dundas, died Friday, November 11, 2016 at Reflections on Three Links Campus. Ed was born April 10, 1938, in Northfield, the son of Francis and Chiquita (Thielbar) Palan. He was raised in Dundas and graduated from Northfield High School. He worked picking up milk from area farmers and hauling it to the Webster Creamery. He also did custom butchering. Ed later served in the Army Reserves. He was united in marriage to Shirley Friesen on October 7, 1960 in Faribault. He worked for the Faribault Coop delivering propane and later the couple moved to Windom and began Palan Trucking. LaMay Agnes Norberg

LaMay Agnes Norberg, 84, Northfield, Minnnesota, died Thursday, October 20, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born January 14, 1932, in Bennett Valley, near Mondovi, Wisconsin, to Archie and Ella (Solfest) Klevgard. LaMay married Adriel A. Norberg (from Mora, MN) on June 2, 1951 in Eau Claire, WI. They farmed in Bennett Valley area for 12 year and then moved their family to Dundas, MN in 1963. After Adriel passed away (2002), LaMay sold their home in Dundas in 2007 and down-sized to a senior living condo-apartment complex in Northfield. Joan Esther Torbenson, age 81, of Castle Rock passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Reflections Care Center in Northfield. Joan was born in Dundas on April 21, 1935, daughter of Bill and Esther (Jacobson) Switzer. Joan grew up on her family’s farm and nursery in Castle Rock with her three brothers, Garry, twin brother John, and Dale. Her grade school days were spent at a country school before graduating from Farmington High School in 1953. After high school Joan spent one year at Bethel College before falling in love with a hometown boy on a hayride. On August 25, 1956, Joan was united in marriage to Norman Thomas Torbenson at McKinley Chapel in Castle Rock. Andrew Roger Erie, 71, of Vasa died Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at his home due to pulmonary embolism. Andrew was born October 25, 1944 in Faribault to Raymond and Edna (Hoseth) Erie. He graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1962. He worked for Meyer Industries. He married Karen Allen Wilkins in 1970 and they later divorced in 1978. He lived in Spooner, Wisc. and then moved to Vasa in 1980. He was a mason by trade and worked with many of his relatives. He built beautiful rock fireplaces that he took pride in. He enjoyed hunting moose and bear, fishing, gardening, woodworking, bowling, golfing, pool, playing cards, and listening to ball games on the radio. He would have made a good mountain man. Bonnie Beverly (Lick) Owen was born June 19, 1945 in Velva, ND, daughter of Alvin and Inez (Oldervik) Lick. She was raised in Bismarck, ND where she attended school and was a member of the 1963 Bismarck High School graduating class. John Bickel, age 77, of Dundas, passed away Monday, September 26, 2016, at Cottages on Forest-Three Links Care Center. John was born September 21, 1939 in Faribault, the son of Arthur and Malinda (Hildebrandt) Bickel. He was raised in Dundas and graduated from Northfield High School class of ’58. John then worked construction in Apple Valley before entering the United States Army. He served with the 328 Ordinance Co during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After receiving his honorable discharge, he returned in Dundas. He was united in marriage to Ardis Hans on August 31, 1963. Violet “Vi” Esther Segerstrom, age 81, of Faribault died on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at her home. Funeral services were held at Grace Lutheran Church, Nerstrand on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. Reverend Don Kloster officiated. Interment was held at Valley Grove Cemetery, Nerstrand. Visitation was at the church for one hour prior to the services on Wednesday. Violet Esther, the daughter of Bernard and Louise (Schumann) Faelske, was born on March 21, 1935 in Waterville. Vi grew up on local farms until moving to Minneapolis in her adulthood and worked at IDS Financial for 13 years. While working, she met Howard Segerstrom and they were married on October 27, 1962 before moving to Lonsdale.
