Roll call taken; a quorum was present.

Approval of Agenda

Motion by Zimmer, second by Skaar, to approve the agenda with the addition under New Business of Mill Park Sign. Motion Carried Unanimously (MCU)

Approval of Minutes

Motion by Pribyl, second by Detert, to approve the minutes of September 8, 2015. MCU

OLD BUSINESS

Libraries in the Park

All the Little Lending Libraries have been installed and look great. Book levels are varying but good.

Books for the winter will be pulled in all parks except the Dog Park. Staff has a list to send thank you’s.

Passive Park

Detert stated he walked the property and prepared a preliminary path with a list of notes. Wood stakes still need to be replaced with steel posts. First step is to remove small amounts of rubbish (tires, metal, and barbed wire). It would be easy to mow path with a brush hog in grass and woods. A spring burn would help control any undesirable vegetation. Some board members will meet Saturday to review site.

Geocaching/Park Passport

Jasper has the template; not much action at this time.

Capital Improvement Plan (CIP)

This year’s capital improvement was put toward the Duke’s stadium upgrades because the Dog Park isn’t ready to happen. Rice County would like to see plans in order to make a decision on whether a curb cut would be allowed for Dog Park parking lot.

Vacant Position

Still need to fill vacant position on Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.

Trailhead

The signs for the Kiosk are still pending; however, now moving forward after dates on pictures were verified. Dirt and grading is done; more than originally planned but looks good. Gallagher will touch base with City Administrator to see if sod is scheduled. Work with engineer on getting master plan updated. Pribyl will report back on status of the sculpture.

NEW BUSINESS

Pavilion Rentals

Rentals are down from past years. This could be a reflection of not getting a sink installed, which will be a priority on getting done this winter.

December Meeting

Motion by Zimmer, second by Skaar to cancel the December regular Park Board meeting. MCU

Mill Park Sign

Limestone around the bronze plaque by the bridge is damaged and needs to be replaced. Ask City staff whether it was an accident or vandalism.
